1.  Booming place for business and careers

American Airlines, Exxon, GameStop, D.R. Horton, and Kimberly-Clark have headquarters in the area. Companies like Toyota and Liberty Mutual have spent millions to relocate to Texas from out of state. Unemployment stands at 3.7 percent, which is lower than the national average. Forbes has named Dallas and its nearby cities as one of the best places for businesses with an annual projected job growth of 3.2 percent. The magazine says that in the next three years, it expects to see Dallas to move up from 10th place to sixth in the country. CNBC lists Dallas metro as the number eight metro area to start a business in the U.S. Partially responsible for this is the well-run Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport. The area also has a second airport option in Love Field. Whether you fly to the East or West Coast, it won't be as long a flight from centrally-located Texas.

There's a reason Texas is known for football and "Friday Night Lights." Arlington is the home of AT&T Stadium where America's team aka the Dallas Cowboys play. Many concerts and events take place there, such as wrestling, boxing, and monster trucks. You have to see the stadium's large screen TVs in person to appreciate their humongous size. Right down the road from the Cowboys, you can catch a Texas Rangers ballgame. Head to Dallas to for basketball and hockey action with the Dallas Mavericks and Dallas Stars. Frisco is home to minor league baseball's Frisco Roughriders and FC Dallas soccer. College sports fans can experience TCU games in Fort Worth, UTA in Arlington, and SMU in Dallas. You're only hours away from games at Texas A&M, University of Texas, Baylor, Rice, Texas Tech, and more. Besides, how can you not love Fort Worth where TCU's mascot is a horned frog?
