Sandlin Community Highlight: Cambridge Place in North Richland Hills
North Richland Hills, TX, is a Fort Worth suburb and the third largest city in Tarrant County with nearly 70,000 residents. NRH calls itself as "City of Choice to Live, Work and Play" and for good reason. The thriving city has more than 1,200 businesses and 30 major employers.
In 2016, The Dallas Morning News recognized North Richland Hills as one of the 10 best neighborhoods out of more than 300 DFW communities. NRH has received top marks for walkability, pet friendliness, maintenance, and variety of housing choices, shopping, and dining.
Money Magazine has recognized North Richland Hills as one of the "Top 100 Best Places to Live in America." Citizens have rated the quality of life as 96 percent as excellent or good and 95 percent of residents would recommend NRH as a place to live.
North Richland Hills Amenities
You'll find more than 30 parks and recreation facilities filled with basketball courts, playgrounds, multi-purpose trails, and even public art. Adventurers have more than 30 miles of hike and bike trails to explore. People who love to play tennis or want to learn how can do that at the 16-court facility at Richland Tennis Center.
Families don't have to venture far to go to a fun water park with NRH2O — one of the top ranked water parks — is in NRH. Designed by Dick Phelps — a well-known golf course architect — the award-winning Iron Horse Golf Course has earned the sought-after 4-star rating from Golf Digest.
The North Richland Hills Centre is a fitness, aquatics and activity center that can be used for receptions, weddings, children's parties, and more. The 86,000-square-foot facility includes a senior center, classrooms, meeting and banquet rooms, personal training, and massage.
One of the public libraries is the home of The Maker Spot, a free, high-tech community space that provides access to technology and training to inspire entrepreneurship and to support education. TEXRail, a 27-mile commuter rail line opening in 2018, will extend through North Richland Hills. Residents can take the rail to downtown Fort Worth, DFW International Airport, and places in between.
