That is why we started the Build on Your Lot program. As the name suggests, this service helps home buyers to evaluate land, pair it with one of our 29 floor plans or build a completely custom home outside our established communities. This service is available throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area.

How do you start a Build on Your Lot project? First, you will want to get in touch with the dynamic duo of Krissy Bublitz and Jerrod Goff who lead the program. They will be your top allies through the process bringing in other experts from around the team to create your dream home. Krissy and Jerrod have a combined 21 years of experience with buyers working in sales, budgeting and construction management along the way.

The next step is to determine where you will build. Some buyers come in with land they already own that may be inherited or recently purchased. In that case, Sandlin Homes offers a complimentary home site evaluation to ensure that construction will progress smoothly on your selected property. For buyers that do not already possess land where they want to build, Sandlin Homes has a list of trusted Realtors in DFW that can help find an ideal homesite. 

Then, it is time to design a floor plan that fits the unique needs of each family. This could be an established plan from Sandlin Homes’ collection with a few tweaks, or a fully custom plan presented by the homebuyer. The team has experience with both and will provide a realistic timeline and cost to build after reviewing the plans. According to Krissy, this is a differentiator for Sandlin Homes’ Build On Your Lot program because many area builders still require use of their own floor plans. 

If you are considering Build on Your Lot, but have been on the fence, Krissy says there is no better time to “go for it.”

“With pricing as high as it is right now and bidding wars on resales, why not,” she continues. “You’ll pay just as much for a new home with warranties as you will an old home with no warranties.”
