Looking back on 2020

In more than six decades of building homes, the team at Sandlin Homes has seen a lot. However, we have never seen anything quite like the wild events that took place this year.

The role of homes changed because we needed them more. They became offices, classrooms and a host of other things when the world slowed down this Spring. But, despite the challenges that 2020 brought with it, Sandlin Homes is set to finish with record-setting numbers for sales and closings.

That was possible through the quick reactions of our staff who shifted to virtual meetings and other remote sales practices so that buyers could safely shop from the comfort of their own homes.

“2020 was a tough year for everyone, but in 2021, we are very excited to open even more great neighborhoods that will allow us to welcome more people into the Sandlin family,” Sandlin sales manager Blake Rasmussen said. “With projects in West Fort Worth and Cleburne on the way, we couldn’t be more ready for 2021 to get here.”

This year, Sandlin Homes opened four new model homes with one in each of the Palomino Estates, Mayfield Farms, Sheppard’s Place and Seeton Estates communities. And in a little less than a month after launch, Lynn Creek and Mayfield Farms are already nearly sold out. Sandlin Homes also released the new Foundation Series in Palomino Estates. The series includes 12 floor plans at an affordable price point in Benbrook.

“Our entire company worked extremely hard to bring an in-person business into the digital world in a hurry,” Rasmussen said. “Thankfully, we were able to keep the buying process easy for our customers even when we weren’t able to see them in-person. I couldn’t be prouder of all of the hard work that turned 2020 into our best year yet.”

But even more importantly, we were able to give back too, continuing our strong partnership with CEC in North Richland Hills. For 30 years, the CEC has worked to break the cycle of poverty and family violence through employment readiness, high school equivalency, financial coaching, counseling, safe housing, food and other basic needs.

In the end, we are here to create a better community every day for our neighbors in Dallas-Fort Worth. That is the biggest lesson of the year: together we can make the world a better place.

“We love helping families buy or build the home of their dreams, so, the more communities, the better,” Rasmussen said. “We want to continue making the difficult decision of buying a new home easy for our customers.”
