6 Valentine's Day Date Ideas for DFW

One wonderful way to celebrate February 14 is having a romantic Valentine's Day dinner at home. You could follow that with doing something you love or discovering something new. Some places in DFW offer an unforgettable experience. You can even go to a haunted house. That may not scream romance, but it may have participants screaming. Here are 6 ideas for a fun DFW date night to celebrate Valentine's Day. Check the dates as some occur before February 14.

What happens when you blend opera with beer? You get Opera Shots. Fort Worth Opera presents Opera Shots at Grapevine Craft Brewery on 906 Jean St, Grapevine, Texas 76051. It'll be a night of operatic favorites and drinks. It's a free event as long as attendees RSVP.
  1. Valentine's Gala
Head to Keith and Margo's Murder Mystery Texas where you'll check in with your Murder Mystery Hosts. They'll give you a welcome letter with instructions. Be sure to come in your Sunday best as it's a semi-formal affair consisting of interrogations, dancing, and noshing.
  1. Valentine's Day at the Dallas Arboretum
What setting is more romantic than one with a garden filled with beauty and nature? The picturesque Dallas Arboretum located on 8525 Garland Rd., Dallas, Texas 75218 has a few events happening on and around Valentine's Day. You can picnic and listen to romantic live music. A Friendship Tea occurs every day at 11am and 2pm. The arboretum will have a showing of the live action Beauty and the Beast. Several food trucks will be on hand. If you prefer steak, then check out the Valentine's Day Steakhouse. You'll learn about easy recipes that pair with 8-ounce steaks made with a red wine reduction, traditional blue cheese wedge salad, and truffle mashed potatoes. What could be more anti-Valentine than going to a haunted house? On the other hand, maybe it's not anti-Valentine as your loved one may squeeze you tight after a little fright. Moxley Manor has two haunted houses for Valentine's Day on February 10. You can buy tickets online to visit the haunted house on 510 Harwood Rd., Bedford, Texas 76021.

The Alamo Drafthouse plans to show a few Valentine's Day movies playing including My Bloody Valentine for horror flick fans. They're also playing Moulin Rouge, Love Bites, Princess Bride, Groundhog Day, and more. Refer to the February movie guide to see what's coming up.
  1. Ricki Derek Valentine's Day Double Feature
Love Sinatra, classic films, and Cary Grant? You'll want to head to the Granada Theater where Ricki Derek will perform love songs from An Affair to Remember, a classic movie and love story.
