Sandlin Community Highlight: Westchester Crossing in Grand Prairie

More than 160k people live in Grand Prairie, a city between Dallas and Fort Worth. According to WalletHub, it's one of the top ten best cities for families in the U.S. Your potential new home could be waiting for you in Westchester Crossing, Grand Prairie's largest community. The community is located at the northwest corner of South Carrier Parkway and Camp Wisdom Road. Grand Prairie has a few notable companies that employ more than 500 people. These include Lockheed Martin, Poly-America, Inc., Bell Helicopter-Textron, Lone Star Park at Grand Prairie, Vought Aircraft, Siemens, Hanson Pipe and Products, and Wal-Mart. Grand Prairie Amenities The city has a chockful of things to do. Westchester Crossing residents can get to the popular Joe Pool Lake and Cedar Ridge Preserve in minutes. Families love to get their water fix at any of the five pools that also make a great workout for those who want to swim laps. Splash Factory Outdoor Water Playground is an interactive water park with ground sprays, spray cannons, and a water wall. And that's not all. Hikers and bikers have a choice of trails all over the city ranging from 3 to 5 miles. Grand Prairie even has a facility for residents ages 50 and up. The Summit is a 60,000-square-foot facility run by the Parks and Recreation Department. It features an indoor walking track, 100-set movie theater, banquet rooms, locker rooms with saunas, gym, café, covered outdoor patio, and more. Westchester Crossing Schools in Grand Prairie Westchester Crossing is in the Grand Prairie Independent School District. GPISD serves about 30k students on more than 40 campuses.
