Ready to relax on the lazy river or catch some waves in the wave pool? Here are some great options.
Epic Waters
2970 Epic Pl.
Grand Prairie, Texas 75052

You don't have to wait for summer to arrive to go to Epic Waters because it's an indoor water park with 80,000 sq. ft. of water! This brand new DFW water park in Grand Prairie guarantees you'll have — what else? — an epic time! Its curved roof is retractable so they can bring the outdoors in.
You can experience three North American firsts in the water park industry: the Lasso Loop, Yellow Jacket Drop, and Aquanaut. Lasso Loop is a looping body slide. Yellow Jacket sends inner tubers twisting through an enclosed slide to an open drop for a thrilling zero gravity experience. The Aquanaut — another inner tube ride — propels double-riders inside high banking domes in the slide.
Hurricane Harbor
1800 E. Lamar Blvd.
Arlington, TX 76006

You can't miss Hurricane Harbor as it's right across the road from Six Flags. The Black Hole makes a nice escape from the sun as it's a completely dark water slide. You can't help but shout "Banzai" on Banzai Boggan's steep sloping slide while gripping the handles of the yellow toboggan.
Want to go steeper? Geronimo starts easy and then hurtles you almost straight down for six stories' worth of height. Go ahead and holler "Geronimo!" on the ride!
Great Wolf Lodge
100 Great Wolf Dr.
Grapevine, TX 76051

What makes Great Wolf Lodge different is that it's a hotel and water park in one. You don't have to worry about hauling all your stuff to the water park or renting a locker. Take what you need: towels, swim shoes, and sunscreen. And you can head back to your room anytime or to the arcade for some cool gaming fun.
They also offer plenty of water-free activities where families can hang out with Great Wolf Kids characters, join the PJ party, listen to a bedtime story, watch the Great Clock Tower Show, and head to Cub Club for crafts and games.

NRH20 hosts special events like dine-in movies and fireworks. Guests can recharge, figuratively and literally, at Beachside Bay with is charging stations for connected devices and a sand volleyball court. Just be careful to keep your devices away from the water.

The nice thing about Hawaiian Falls' multiple locations is that you might have one close to home. Like any other water park, you can find rides from mild to wild. One of the wilder ones is Tsunami, a two-person tube ride that spirals. Take a brief break from the sun in the Rush where tubers slide in darkness while listening to music and zooming through a laser light show. You have not one but two lazy rivers to relax you.
Here's a bonus. Would you like to be able to swim across Texas without training for it? Did you know DFW has a Texas-shaped pool in Plano? Check out the Texas Pool as they have live music, mermaid swim, and other events happening there all summer.
Remember to pack your sunscreen and bug repellant before you head out. Check the park's rules about what you can and can't bring. Some provide FAQs with a checklist of recommended items to bring to make the most of your fun!
